A Cap-Haïtien guesthouse with resort comforts

Hidden Palace Guesthouse & Resort wordmark above the yellow facade and round tower in Cap-Haïtien

You land at Cap-Haïtien International Airport tired, a little wired, and ready for somebody else to take charge. At Hidden Palace, somebody does. A free shuttle meets you, a front desk that never closes checks you in at any hour, and breakfast tomorrow is already taken care of. This is a guesthouse in scale and in welcome, with the extras you would expect from a resort. Here is why travelers choose it as their home base in the north of Haiti.

Guesthouse warmth, resort extras

Big hotels can feel like airports with beds. A small guesthouse can feel personal but leave you on your own for dinner, transport and everything else. Hidden Palace was built to give you both halves of that equation.

On the guesthouse side: a calm property on RN #1 in Vaudreuil, kind, respectful staff (our guests’ words, not ours), and the kind of Haitian hospitality that keeps coming up in reviews. On the resort side, all of this is on site:

  • Free buffet breakfast every morning of your stay
  • A restaurant with table service and a buffet dinner, plus a bar for the evening
  • 24-hour room service, because flights do not land on a schedule
  • An outdoor jacuzzi for the end of a long day
  • A game room, and a kids’ club with activities and babysitting
  • Wi-Fi to plan tomorrow or finish some work
  • Free parking, car rental on site, private car service and a local shuttle
  • A free airport shuttle from CAP
  • A front desk open 24 hours, every day

Under string lights in the courtyard pergola, with a hanging chair and a quiet evening ahead, it stops feeling like logistics and starts feeling like a trip.

Why guests choose Vaudreuil over downtown

Downtown Cap-Haïtien has real history. Founded in 1670 as Cap-Français, it was the capital of the French colony of Saint-Domingue and was once nicknamed the Paris of the Antilles for its wealth and architecture. King Henri Christophe later renamed it Cap-Henri. Haitians today call it Okap. It deserves a visit, and we are happy to arrange one.

Sleeping there is a different question. Many travelers would rather spend the day in the city and the night somewhere calmer. Hidden Palace sits on RN #1 in Vaudreuil, just outside the rush of downtown. Guests describe it in reviews as quiet, peaceful and close to the airport, which matters when your flight is early or your arrival is late.

The result is a better rhythm: out for the day, back to a quiet property, dinner without a taxi, and a proper night’s sleep.

What guests say

Hidden Palace is rated 5.0 on Google from 32 reviews. When guests write about their stay, the same themes come up again and again: clean rooms, quiet nights, feeling safe, kind and respectful staff, timely service and being close to the airport.

We do not write reviews for our guests, and we do not inflate our numbers. The full, unedited reviews are on our Google profile.

Rooms for couples, families and groups

Every stay includes the free buffet breakfast, Wi-Fi and 24-hour room service.

  • Friends, siblings and parents with kids usually choose one of our three Two-Bed Rooms: a bed each, calm and easy.
  • Couples and solo travelers often like the One-Bed Room, the only room of its kind in the house.
  • Groups, reunions and extended families can take the whole house: all four bedrooms and seven beds under one roof.

Your base for the Citadelle, Sans-Souci and the coast

The north of Haiti holds some of the most important history in the Caribbean. In 1982, UNESCO listed the Citadelle, Sans-Souci Palace and the Ramiers site as a World Heritage Site: the first monuments built by people who had won their freedom from slavery.

  • Citadelle Laferrière: Henri Christophe’s mountaintop fortress. Visits have been suspended since April 2026; we will tell you the latest before you book.
  • Sans-Souci Palace: the king’s palace ruins at Milot, at the foot of the road to the Citadelle.
  • Labadee and the north coast: Royal Caribbean has paused cruise calls through at least June 2027, but the coast itself is still there for a beach day with someone who knows the way.

Whatever you plan, the pattern is the same: free buffet breakfast before you leave, our private car service or a rental car from the property to get you there, and dinner, the bar and the outdoor jacuzzi when you get back. The front desk never closes, so a late return is never a problem. For a ready-made plan, try our 3-day Cap-Haïtien itinerary.

Arriving at CAP: the free shuttle

The first hour of a trip sets the tone for the rest of it. At Hidden Palace, you do not negotiate with drivers at arrivals or wonder whether your ride will show. Our airport shuttle is free for guests. Send us your flight details when you book and we will be there.

Landing late? The front desk is open 24 hours and room service runs all night, so you can check in, eat something and sleep. Our Cap-Haïtien airport arrival guide walks you through arrivals step by step, and our location page has the map and directions for anyone driving.

Cap-Haïtien guesthouse questions

Is Hidden Palace a guesthouse or a resort?

Both, in the best sense. It has the scale and personal welcome of a guesthouse, with resort extras on site: a restaurant and bar, an outdoor jacuzzi, a game room, a kids’ club, 24-hour room service and a free airport shuttle.

Why stay in Vaudreuil instead of downtown Cap-Haïtien?

Guests choose Vaudreuil for quiet nights and easy airport access, then visit the city by day. Our private car service, local shuttle and on-site car rental make the trip simple.

Who is Hidden Palace best suited for?

Couples who want calm, families who want kids’ activities and babysitting, travelers on business who need Wi-Fi and a front desk at any hour, and groups who want the whole house, with all four bedrooms and seven beds.

Can the front desk help me plan my days around Cap-Haïtien?

Yes. We arrange private cars, point you to guides and beaches we trust, and keep track of which sites are open, which matters right now for the Citadelle and Sans-Souci.
